My computer supplier (a local computer internet shop) has updated one or two things on my Computer..but in particular he has installed MOZILLA FIREFOX. I'm new to computers..so I don't know how to describe Mozilla Firefox..but it has certainly speeded up moving from thread to thread on these Forums. And thats a great bonus. So, its recommended and was downloaded free of charges. Some of you may have observations about this piece of software.

Hi Jim, "Bookmark" / "Favourites" / and in American Computer English "Favorites" is just a method of storing links to individual web pages or web locations on your computer. Bookmark is the term used by Netscape, and hence Mozilla; Favorites is the Internet Explorer term.

Hi JimYou might find that one or two elements on certain websites will not show correctly or not work, but that said I think Firefox is one of the better alternatives to IE 6.Here’s a day of website activity to show which browsers visitors are using, it’s the guide that most website builders go by to see if they really need to design for a certain browser or resolution, but we wouldn’t go by just one day we would have to take into account the percentage of a much longer period. IE6=334 IE5=29 Safari 12=12 Firefox 1=12 Netscape Navigator 7=4 Mozilla 1=3 Firefox 0=3 Safari 8=2 Safari 16=2 Opera 7=1 IE4=1 Konqueror 3=1 Other=1

David:Ah, now I understand about your reference to Malcolm and Iris...and the Chiswick Forum "window xp2" thread. You all seem to be very knowledgeable on these matters..and the aware of the systems and technology that goes on behind the computer scenes. The extra speed moving between sites and Forum pages is very significant. I've yet to notice any drawbacks..although GB mentioned SPELLCHECKER.
Sorry Jim, I’m the one being dozy. I forgot that Malcolm Peltu started the topic with the subject as “Windows XP2” (25/11/04). Firefox and other goodies came later, somewhere in the middle.A reference to Uncle Billy fighting back can be found athttp://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2005-02/17/content_2587326.htmand as you probably have heard, Redmond have had to admit that I.E. 6.x will never catch up with Firefox and that version 7 of I.E. will be along very soon and will not be held back for Longhorn as was the original intention..
David,I'm looking at Chiswick Forum index...what topic/thread do I click on?? :0)... I'm not feeling too bright this afternoon!
Jim, it’s the Alzheimer’s again – for Irene read Iris!
Hi Jim,Have a look on Chiswick for the posts from Malcom, Irene etc. - you've opened a real can of worms. ;-)
