There are many reasons why people smoke and there are many ways of trying to give up. I started smoking when I was 15 and I kept going until I was 66, smoking between 25 and 40 every day. I tried acupuncture, hypnosis, group therapy, patches, chewing gum, nasal sprays and will power but they all failed. About three years ago the results of a medical scan for something else (now resolved) scared the hell out of me and I turned to vaping. I'm still addicted to nicotine but I have no desire to smoke another cigarette. Vaping was the answer for me. There is a need for some regulation in the vaping world but how do we ensure that the big tobacco companies (BAT, Reynolds, Philip Morris etc.)don't gain control of the vaping market while they continue to flog their old poison to other parts of the world?
