Public Meeting on Park Rd. allotment plans
The plans by the agents acting on behalf of the Duke of Northumberland to build housing on what are currently allotments in Park Rd. are being discussed at a public meeting next Tuesday 18th January @ 7.30.p.m. The meeting is to be held at Isleworth Public Hall and planning officers from L.B. Hounslow will be attending, the meeting is to be chaired by Cllr. Ed Mayne. Local residents, The Isleworth Society and allotment holders are opposing the plans and the allotments have been designated an 'asset of community value', but this might not be enough to save them from development. As well as proposing moving the allotments, if permission is forthcoming, into Syon Park, which will be a blot on a landscape designed by Capability Brown the traffic this will create will also be of local concern given the fact that there are plans to open The Green School for Boys at the junction of Park Rd and Twickenham Rd. just up from the allotment site.If you wish to find out more or have any concerns please come along next Tuesday.
