Proposed development by Kew Bridge Station consultation THIS THURSDAY 19th

I arrived home this evening to see a letter announcing a public exhibition at Kew Bridge Station this Thursday between 4 and 8pm related to a plan to build flats between the station, railway line and Temeraire Place. This plan is complete news to me.I don't know who else has received this invitation but it says all welcome (though requires use of stairs) email kewbridge@yourshout.org or call 0800 458 6976 for further details.

'I don't get the  profoundly deaf statement for the Kew Bridge Station unless it's because of the new stadium.'I was thinking more of the constant rattle of trains and the traffic on the busy road outside.

I dont get the  profoundly deaf statement for the Kew Bridge Station unless it's because of the new stadium.I though the Station was going to be upgraded because of the stadium site. Brentford Football Club seem to know more about the development than the Council

Can't see how such a site would appeal to anyone but the profoundly deaf! Are they going to do anything about the sheer scruffiness of this station?

Sorry taking phone calls and posting do not mix.  The public meeting was for the 11 storey building proposed opposite Gillette, and we were talking about the historical significance to the top of the hill and the sight line to the clock face.  Views don't matter, are not conserved, not valued and can be blocked by buildings.

I have just been to the public meeting at St Francis Church near Gillettes and apparently there is no real consideration to the views.  I told them about the clock at Gillettes bending seen across the river towards Richmond and being used and enjoyed by locals.  We always notice if it has stopped or is out of time.  The proposed building will block the clocks view and replace the clock tower as a pinnacle to Syon Hill.  The replacement building for the pinnacle is just not good enough and the proposed building is far too high and there is a historical significance to the pinnacle of this hill for the area and Brentford itself.  The land tumbles down from the top of the hill to the river.

This is quite an important development as it faces you as you drive across the bridge.  I love the way the larger buildings behind, on the A4 were aligned with the bridge giving a grand back drop and view.  Hope the new proposed development is in keeping with this.
