Fine white Dust

I live in a Ferry Quays and have a lot of very fine white dust in my flat.  I have had to thoroughly clean twice a week to keep it under control.  Any ideas what it is?  Is this a Brentford problem?  I think it could be building site dust from the construction along the river for the past 5 years, or exhaust from the planes that land low over Brentford every day.  Now with the reports of air pollution reaching very high levels and Hounslow very high on the list of most polluted boroughs, perhaps that's the reason. Anyone else get this?

Why the hysteria all of a sudden.When the Alfa Laval site was cleared a few years ago, The HSE and local environment services refused to lift a finger at the huge amounts of dust that drifted up to South Ealing and down to the river.Even though the building was constructed with asbestos content concrete, no-one took the matter seriously. Just one hose pipe was used to dust down and the bulk of the breaking of the concrete was done on site and in a period of windy weather.We will have all ingested this dust. The consequences may be years away.Now a few unsubstantiated scare stories issued by the Mayors Office and taken up by the media and it's armageddon.yet when something really serious was going on public and authorities alike just buried their heads in the...dust.Most of the dust here is from the flight path. It can drift a long way depending on the airflow.Tall buildings  cause a lot of problems have a huge affect on airflow and act as baffles bringing poor air, multi directional winds and downdrafts. It's one reason why they are so dirty so quickly and why homes close by get so grimy quickly.

i live in North Brentford and have been here for many years now.  My house is really really dusty, and gets cleaned all the time.  I always thought it was fall out from the elevated section of the motorway, and to a degree the flight path (though I am not actually under a flight path)

Should you not bag the dust up and maybe take it to a public health department?  Anyone know where the powder could be checked out?
