I've been shown a letter from NHS England which says:"For Manor Practice, a key factor in our considerations was the ability of otherpractices, particularly the 3 other practices within Brentford Health Centre, to takeon large numbers of additional patients.As part of the stakeholder engagement we asked all local practices about theircapacity and capability to take on additional patients. NHS England and CCGofficers then met with the other practices in Brentford Health Centre to discuss theircapacity and how space in the centre could be better utilised. The closure of ManorPractice would allow for the other practices in the centre to expand into the vacatedspace. This extra space will allow the practices to increase their clinical andadministrative capacity to accommodate the Manor patients and help improveaccess overall. Having discussed capacity with Brentford practices they confirmedthey would be able to register patients from the Manor Practice as long as theycould use the extra space.Taking all this into account the committee considered that the patients of ManorPractice could be accommodated by the other existing local practices, withoutadversely effecting access overall, and decided that patients should be asked toregister with another local practice of their choice.NHS England and the CCG are in the process now of writing to patients andstakeholders (including the relevant ward councillors and the Health Overview andScrutiny Chair) to inform them of this decision, the reasons for it and to giveassurance of the steps we are taking to ensure that the closure of the practice ismanaged safely.We will work closely with Greenbrook Healthcare Ltd to ensure that patients areencouraged to re-register as quickly as possible.
