My wife and kids bikes have all been stolen from outside and they used bolt cutters and removed the bricks retaining the wall hasp. Twice this has happened now. One was found in the river, but mangled. We've given up having bikes as the wheelie bins and bikes could not both be contained in the tiny frontage and insurers now won't cover them unless kept indoors which is impossible. There's a gang of local kids who ride about as kids do, but are always on different bikes - apart from one who is often on a Blue Barclays Boris bike - As they are now Red Santander Bikes, do the Police not notice these things and at least ask a question or two? Wondered about these bike cages but they are quite difficult for kids to use and hear that the thieves have been stealing from them in Ealing having acquired the access keys.No easy answer to this apart from connecting the bikes to the mains!
