Latest Tory leaflet....

Personally addressed and delivered via the post arrived today. Although it mentioned my name twice and the constituency there was no mention of their local candidate . The word conservative featured twice. Once in a web address and once in tiny print at the bottom with the publisher/printer name. It was all about Ms weak and wobbly and brexit, with a few digs at the opposition. There is a plea about how a loss of just six seats would lose Theresa's majority.....Err, who called this election and why? Finally there is a tear off slip at the bottom to help me 'Plan my vote on 8th June' This is an idiots guide presumably aimed either at new voters or those so old they have failed the NHS Dementia Test. I am not at all comfortable with this presidential style of campaigning, it is all about me, me, me with no hint of local democracy......

Agree 100% Vanessa and I cannot see any difference either in being visited daily by a District Nurse for other illnesses as it all costs money and I don't think any of us would begrudge paying a bit extra in tax for the peace of mind being cared for if required in later years

What bugs me about this is  - why in the case of elderly people with conditions such as Alzheimers or Parkinson's or other degenerative diseases are they deemed to need 'social care'? These are medical conditions, as has been said, if you unfortunately suffer with cancer you will be treated by the NHS, why should these other conditions be different? I would suggest that 'social care' is more when people are frail and unable to live by themselves and need support. It is high time that we were able to get this sorted between the NHS and local authorities, to leave family members to cope with people living with these conditions and also ask them to pay so much is outrageous - 'social care' is a cop-out.

The Conservatives' plan to pay for social care for an ageing population made sense. Such a pity that May not only lost her bottle and started back-pedalling frantically but even laughably described it as 'not a U-turn'. She's just gone downhill since.

If the leaflet mentions the local constituency or candidate then it has to be funded locally.  This will have come from central/national party funding.This is similar to the issue in Kent two years ago that has led to the South Thanet PM being charged.

Not only are the Tories being led by Mrs. Weak and Wobbly they couldn't rustle up a backbone between the lot of them. That prize pillock Trump has insulted the Mayor of London on Twitter all week, yet not one of them has got the guts to tell the orange one where he gets off. And this is the woman who reckons she's going to take on Europe? I don't think so.

I am appalled by the Tory Dementia tax and know real die hard tories of modest means who are equally dismayed at what will affect almost everyone unlucky enough to befall an infirmity in their senior years.But like many others also, not a word from Labour about what they would do.I've sent 26 emails out to various Labour candidates and Q&As and so far not one pertinent or even specific answer.The answer is the same but they do not have even the gumption to come clean.And still our local candidates  have all continued to avoid burning local issues.Very little point in voting. Because despite all the upsets of the last 24 months. No-one is really listening to the public and no-one rally has a clue what to do about anything.
