Boston Manor Car park closed Saturday for Junction 2 Event

POLITE NOTICE: The car park within Boston Manor Park will be closed on Saturday 10th from 11.30 to 23.30 because of the Junction2 event taking place.  Park facilities (e.g. playground, café, tennis courts) will remain open. Normality will resume on Sunday.FRIENDS OF BOSTON MANOR

Hmmmmm - I live in Lionel Road North and the noise was louder here than the Mela in Gunnersbury Park (which was only a couple of hundred yards away from us) ever was. I thought the source of the music must have been much closer - I couldn't believe it when I was told it was Boston Manor Park.

Sorry typo in the last post......In Response To:The Junction 2 event seemed well organised again this year.Yes the music was loud, but it is only on one day a year.My only concern was the amount of litter of empty alcoholic bottles and cans that were left in Boston Manor Station.  I'm hoping that the event's organisers paid TfL to clearing up the station.

Guys it's one day. When my neighbours have a party yes it's a bit irritating to listen to but don't mind if it's occasional. I think the thousands of people that had a great day, money it brought to the area etc definitely outweighed locals having to listen to the boom boom boom. A mowtown do would be ace!

It finishes bang on 1030 which is reasonable i think, I live in Albany road and could hardly hear it, the sound was quality in the event which has made it a huge success

I had no problem with the event taking place and remember how well it went last year,but this year the volume was just too loud.

Sarah the event organisers do offer free tickets to resistants, you can fill out a form online, try next year great day out on our doorsteps

Drove past a few times yesterday on 'errands' and it looked incredibly well organised and signposted. Drove past again this morning and not a scrap of litter on the streets, all signage down, temporary toilets gone.Hope that everyone who attended had a great time. Only wish that there could be a Chess/Stax/Motown festival for us 'oldun's'

It's one day in 365. I firm my ears are absolutely fine. Junction two is an excellent festival, I have been to so many that are not and I hope the petit comments don't prevent the festival from going ahead for years to come.  Boston Manor Park is on the map as a really cool venue  and I would in courage people to go that wouldn't normally .  There was a couple in their 60s having a great time ! The concept is really clever and even if the music isn't your cup of tea you can still taking the most amazing. Well done junction 2 for restoring my faith in techno festivals!

t Message:Well it's a techno music festival, if u check the junction 2 Facebook event page review section. All the reviews are excellent and most highlighting the fact that sound was top notch which not normally the case at most festivals that just care about money and not providing quality to the people who pay large ticket prices. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea but I feel we really shouldn't quick to put the event down and treat it as a positive for the area,

I attended the festival yesterday for the second time and I'm proud to say out of all the festivals I have attended in london junction 2 was by far the best. I understand there may be noise from the event with is only once a year,  but I think the community should be proud to have festival here with thousands of people attending who all had a great day which has been lacking in london of late. I'm sure the residents of Notting hill would be glad to have junction 2 instead of Notting hill carnival once a year,!

Just hope that this isn't going to be an annual event. Living fairly close to the park it was a continuous thumping sound all day long and meant we couldn't be in the garden. A lot more attendance as well. Wonder how much the Council raked in for letting out the park.

My partner and I was walking near the event along the tow path and was shocked at how load the music was.We had to turn back as it was so bad our ear drums were vibrating to the beat,we also witnessed other people having to cover there ear.I hate to think what the damage it must of been doing to the ears of the people attending the event.

it was extremely loud.  I think maybe the wind direction had something to do with how the noise carried.  Or possibly that some of the music was being played under the flyover. I wonder if that amplified the overall volume, more than last year, when i believe only the bottom part of the park was used.

So that is what the awful thumping bass sound is that seems to have been going all day long and and is unpleasant in South Ealing Road! I can't imagine what it must be like close to.
