I found his card wallet with various cards and id. Does anyone know of him?Have an address on one of the ID's but it's five years old and not local so I wondered if he had moved this way.

I did this once with details from a handbag which was dumped just inside my garden wall. The person I phoned contacted the person whose bag it was and gave her my number. When she came round she was (I suppose) grateful but asked whether there had been a gold chain - recently bought - in the bag when I found it ... err ... maybe she was just shocked and confused generally but still. The bag had been taken, it seemed, by somebody who had been to her office and she hadn't even noticed until phoned by the intermediary. Just sayin' and of course no reason not to pursue any such future event. I couldn't help thinking though that a Thank You card through the door would have been nice. The (solicitor's) office was literally at the end of my road.

Thanks Iain. That's a shame.I'll contact the companies in there today Sarah, thanks for the idea. Police said they don't take lost and found.

Have you tried contacting the companies whose cards are in the wallets?  You might be able to pass your contact details on through them.  Handing it in to the police might work, too?
