Illegal Parking in CPZ on Haverfield.

Coates Walk on the Haverfield has 2 car parks on the Ealing Rd side of the block that are accessed from turning in from Burford Rd.In the evening and overnight these car parks are often overcrowded. Vehicles park up after the CPZ from around 9pm onwards. Often parking in the yellow diagonal striped boxed area at the top of the car park that clearly says no parking. In bays reserved for disabled permits and worst of all straight down the middle of the car park as there are no spaces left.      My main concern here is how would the fire brigade get access to this side of the block in the night?Forget the whole other issue of most of these late night/ overnight vehicles not having CPZ permits as they know they will be gone before the morning zone comes into effect and likely not return till after the evening zone - so park for free whilst other residents have to pay and then strugggle to find a space late evening.     The top end of Coates Walk actually on Burford Rd itself has a very small car park - no bays are marked out and cars often block the pedestrian access down the side of Coates Walk.    The recent shocking events at Grenfell Tower ( where i grew up) have only highlighted the whole issue for me.Is it the same all over the estate?I know the CPZ has had a positive effect in many areas, especially during the day. But it appears to do little or nothing overnight.     Is there not a fire brigade inspection that should highlight this situation?

measure the height and length of the van. You CPZ application form documentation will show the sizes allowed. If the van is this size for example* - phone the CPZ people and report that they have illegally acquired a CPZ and explain why. Could ask the local fire brigade about this access.  I have popped in to the fire station in Isleworth before now to ask about gas cylinders in an abandoned, and newly broken into garage.A few years ago I had three fire tenders to myself, no I shan't say why, but they all got stuck at the level crossing in Wood Lane as the barrier was down and they weren't aware the crossing was there....

I have wondered if a fire engine could actually get to the car parks at Coates Walk even if everyone parked legally.Which then raises the question as to where would our emergency services have to come from to access the block, from either end of the walk?

The biggest culprits are the Initial vans. One by Coates walk is so large it blocks a pathway and hinders public footpath movement. The one that takes the Goals medal is the Initial van parked from About 1700 each night  in the car park opposite Cressage House and Trimmer Walk Why? It has been given a CPZ permit. A fully signed company vehicle how is this possible?

Commercial Vehicles should be banded from parking overnight as they did before.The Estate is still being used as a van and lorry car park at night  TNT dont give a dam about their drivers parking in resident streets instead of taking them back to the yard at night

There was nothing fine about the parking what I'm saying is even with the cpz you still can't park near your home. All they had to do is slap tickets on those parked badly like before the cpz is just a money making opportunity

Parking was fine before the cpz came in. It was just people were bad at parking or parked in the middle of the road if there's no spaces as they were to lazy to park elsewhere and walk back.

Thanks for this.My impression is that the CPZ bedded in OK to start with but certain problems have emerged as people have got used to it. We've had a few issues raised with councillors in addition to these and I think it's time we asked the traffic and enforcement people to review where we've got to, taking the issues that people have raised on board. I'll see what I can arrange and I'll make sure we cover anything you raise directly or via the forum.

It's clearly an issue then.More concerned about access for emergency services though.Guy asked to be kept updated as to how the CPZ was working out, perhaps he can enlighten us further.

Parking on yellow lines is 24/7 and should be enforced more.  little or no wardens at night. On my part of the estate owners sit in their cars/vans during enforcement hours and tell the wardens they are about to go and get away with it. Just across the road from Coates is Trimmer home of the enforcement team, they don't do anything about parking. Large vans blocking pathways, access knocking down fences.

I've seen sudden early morning "raids" by parking wardens in LBE to catch people parking on double yellow lines in a narrow street before the CPZ hours come into effect. So it can happen.
