Long queues at Hounslow Main Post Office  :0(  :0(    :0(

Following the recent closure of local sub-post offices, its hardly surprising that the remaining Main Post Offices get very busy at times.I get upset when I regularly see long lines of local residents queuing outside the Holloway Street Main Post office. Yesterday, Friday, at 5.15pm I reckon some 60 persons were in the queue..probably waiting 20-30 minutes for service. This could be deemed outragious.Was the Royal Mail/Post Office losing money on its mail handling services because of poor and inefficient work and management practices at the mail sorting depots etc?And it is now recuperating its losses VIA this other department..the Post Office Counters Dept?

Don't know what you mean by "dodgy food on sale" Jim, but Asia Kebab House opposite the bus station on Kingsley Road does the best Chicken Tikka in fresh nan bread for about £2.50. Yum yum!

Brentford Post Office is just as bad. people start queueing before 8am on a monday.

But to be fair - the Nationwide and Nat West were both the same with queues miles long, it's nearly always the same at month end - people paying bills etc. - can't be asked myself - direct debit saves all that nonsense.

Over 80! and fifty of those were queuing in the street outside.(Holloway Street).  The poor staff inside would no doubt be receiving grumpy comments.The shabby sight I witnessed just adds to the catalogue of sad scenes that one is having to tolerate these days...in Hounslow Town. Have you recently walked up Kingsley Road..one of Hounslow's major streets...from the Bus Garage to say the Station?Us oldies think its all very depressing...the style of the shops, the perhaps dodgy food on sale, small houses converted into Law Centres, and letting agents (who would be paying the rent? ;0)  No doubt the authorities will be pleased when my generation of alarmed long-term residents have be despatched to the graveyard. Then they can proceed unhindered.

Much the same in Ealing Post office JIM. They have a lot to learn about running a business. Its such a dreary place to have to spend time waiting in a queue. And the staff aren't that welcoming behind the counters. :-(
