Brentford Library Campsite

Has anybody else noticed the campsite that has sprung up in the grounds of Brentford Library?

Anne, you will be reading this because you can't help yourself. You are a troll and a stalker. You claim to have not been on the forum for months yet the first thing you do is find an old July post by me and suggest that I need a psychiatrist. Why would you do that? Very sad indeed.

It's very silly of you to say that I am 'stalking' you.I won't be responding further to you so please find somebody else to pick on or, better still, don't. Saw the tent on Wednesday well hidden wonder where they do what they have to houses have toilets, the library does not as the notice states

Don't worry about it. Nicholas supported me in another post and because Anne is a troll and stalks me, she will now stalk anyone who agrees with me and she will desperately try to find fault with anything they say. Very sad actually.

Thank you for reading my post Anne and replying. I will write another soon. It does not matter how you writre in English as we do not have a specific government department overseeing our language. Remember 39% of primary school chidren are below standard both in reading and writing!

I see the word (sic) in brackets.. what does this mean?It is very often deployed snidely or sarcastically in critical articles, directly quoting an opponent or rival or someone saying something which is disapproved of, and including their spelling mistakes or incorrect use of a word or term.

I was listening to LBC on this subject. A mixed development near Elephant and Castle was being built and the developer said he wanted to put up 61 for sale immeidiately to get some cash. Believe it or not one person bought the entire 61. They remained empty but it was not mentioned for how long. The big one to watch is Battersea Power Station. Also another trick is to say I want to build 300 flats 100 for affordable rent if the council will provide planning permission. Of course it is. Later a building progresses they say things are getting difficult financially so I need to reduce the 100 affordable unit by say 50. Another thing thats annoys me is when the taxpayer pays to have toxic land cleaned before it is sold to a privater developer.

First stage would be to make sure all homes are occupied and not bought by overseas investors and left empty.  Wonder how many houses and flats across London are empty?

I dont think any council will build public housing like we used to have. It should be built with a law saying it must never be sold. Councils are just not interested. The railways used to build for their employees. In north Ealing there is an ex Great Western Railway estate. Now private of course. A doctor earning say £80000.00 would be pushed to buy one of these affordable homes!!!!

What I wouldn't be doing is building so-called 'affordable homes' which aren't - except for the pretty well-off, instead of concentrating on public housing.

What a miserable bunch. Did you expect that the Councillors should have just waded in there and swept them up? You must know that they don't have such powers. If the tent has gone, it's gone and hopefully a solution of sorts was found i.e. St Mungo's. What would you have done as Councillors and if you think the current ones are so useless, why don't you stand?

" 'Closely monitoring' - translates as - doing sod-all."Closely monitoring is the best Hounslow can do. It is nothing more than a tick box regime. Hence its status as most rotten borough.

Rough sleeping is a problem in several parks in the borough, not a problem I can see getting any better unless council housing is built in large quantities.

Yes, the tent has gone. I'm informed that it was two homeless men. They were referred to Hounslow's homelessness partner St Mungo's who apparently need to see people sleeping rough on three occasions before giving support.
