Verdict Bakery Brentford

Popped along to the Brentford Market on Sunday which has really gone downhill recently by the way due to the lack of stalls and decided to get a coffee in the Verdict as I had yet to try itCoffee was delicious and good value but what spoilt it was the absolute mess on every table outside as they were covered with cups and plates of half eaten food attracting wasps and flies so really struggled to sit in comfortI did pop in and ask if the tables could be cleared but the young guy serving although very friendly seemed to imply he would do so when he got around to it.Real shame as inside was really nice and they had a lovely selection of cakes and snacks but I saw many who wanted to sit outside just simply have a look at the mess and walk away

Adam.  The bins were all removed during the IRA bombing era which included the Victoria station bombing where they used the litter bin.  Funnily enough in recent years bins have been 'creeping' back which is good to see.  Last time I went through Victoria station the plaque marking where the bin had been was covered by a postcard stand and the same in the White tower in the Tower of London.  I went to look for both these plaques, especially the Victoria Station one as I had worked with Dave Corner.

I'll never understand the mindset behind discarding litter.  Equally I don't think the authorities help either in terms of the numbers of rubbish bins provided in public locations or how often they are emptied, and I don't single out Hounslow in this respect (although the bins in Carville Hall Park and outside Kew Bridge station are always overflowing at weekends etc.)The other day I walked for approximately 15 minutes through central London, during which time I wanted to put an apple core in a bin, and it was only when I got to Blackfriars station that I came across a bin.

Things will get worse as the people who do these jobs will slowly drift away after Brexit. People will have to be made to do these jobs. There is litter everywhere. I have never seen the streets washed as they do in mainland Europe. This is our culture. I have seen furniture, fridges,cookers etc all dumped  in the street.

The name 'Bakery' is used very loosely here imo. They don't sell bread or rolls. Ditto Greggs 'bakery'. Morrison's is an ok supermarket but their bread is not very good.
