Entertaining an 18 month old ....

Sorry but an idea for later on. Buy a model yatch (a cheap one). On a Sunday afternoon take the tibe to Kensington Gardens. Go to the round pond aand show the child how to sail the yatch. On a Sunday someone is always thete with their boat and will help.  After if the child likes art take them to the Henry Moore statues. My what a visual feast!

When the child is older put GREAT COCKROW RAILWAY near Chertsey in your diary This is truely  a fantastic experience for a child or adult come to that. Goes through woods tunnels and a little branch line into a sort of glen. Its on the internet I think. Young children cannot ride on it due insurance rules.

If you have use of a car Beckonscott Model Village at Beaconsfield is a real gem. Check on internet and see the view from the front of a miniture train.

Went to London Zoo.  Had to change trains because of hold ups on the line and had to squeeze in and stand.  18 month old lent over adults shoulder and pulled the communication cord ...didn't have that on the entertainment list but the other travellers were all in stitches as we tried to push it back.  In case you ever wondered what happens ... the train slows, stops and the driver asks what is your emergency.  Penguins and Meercats at the zoo were amazing.  Some big improvements in some of the cages, well worth a visit on the 2 for 1 tickets available.
