HELP NEEDE AGAIN

AS EVERYONE KNOWS MY 9YR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DIAGONISED WITH LEUKEMIA LAST NOVEMBER AND IS CURRENTLY HAVING TREATMENT AT GRT ORMAND ST HOSPITAL (GOSH)AS YOU ALL KNOW BACK IN FEBUARY I HAD MY HEAD SHAVED OFF FOR GOSHH AND WITH SOME OFF YOU WE RAISED £1015.00 WHICH WAS GREAT.GOSH HAS ASKED ME FOR MORE HELP IN RAISING MONEY FOR THE HOSPITAL AND ASKED IF I WOULD TAKE PART IN A PARACHUTE JUMP 10.000FT UP FROM A PLANE, THE THOUGHT OFF IT SCARES ME TO DEATH BUT IF IT HELPS THE HOSPITAL I AM PREPARED TO DO IT.I NEED TO RAISE £280+ SO I AM ASKING YOU GOOD PEOPLE AGAIN IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME AND SPONSOR ME PLEASE AND AMOUNT WILL BE GREAT.PLEASE EMAIL ME ON MY PRIVATE EMAIL ADDRESS simonanderson2@blueyonder.co.ukTHANKS AGAIN EVERYONESIMON

hi SarahYes there is a box to tick on the forms which every £1 donated 28p gets paid you are absoutly right.But if there is only cheques for the fund i need cash to pay 4 jump on the day and i feel that its wrong to take the money from whats raised anywaySimon

Just a thought ... Simon are you asking people who are giving you sponsorship, if they are tax payers, to sign a charity donation tax form (what’s it called, folks?).  For each £1 GOSH can claim back something like 28p - which means £280 on the £1000 you raised.  The person donating must be paying tax and have paid enough tax in the tax year they sign the form to cover the money the Inland Revenue will pay back to GOSH on their donation...or something like that.  GOSH would be able to tell you about it as it raises the total of the donations by a considerable amount.

Dear JimThanks for your kind message..so far ive raised on my form around £1,200.00 and I have loads off sponsor forms being done by people and still to recieve other pledges by people who have called me but not sent there cheques yet.As to the £180 i need to explain how this works, When you do the jump you have to pay them on the dat the £180 and you take that out the sponsor money, but because most people paid cheques payable to GOSH I havent recieved cash to pay for it, also I feel it isnt fair that the money comes out off the ponsor money so ive posted on here and Chiswick for help from a buisness,shop etc to put the money up and  will wear a t'shirt on the day off the jump to promote there buisness or shop but no luck so far, ive even put up my electric scooter for sale to raise some off the money to put to it.As to Ann I did email her back last wk explaining I need someone to put up the £180 so it dont have to come out the Charity Money but had no reply back.It is a good idea about the parliment thing but would anybody be up for that? and would she do it?As to advertising, ive posted it on to Ivytag forum as I am Chair now, and ive placed it on Worton estate.As to leaflets everyone saw the article in the paper except the Ivybridge Estate who dont get the Informer so i am waiting on Ivytag newsletters to be published as iv written a piece in there and that gets delievered to all the flats on Ivybridge estate.I think maybe a poster to put up around shops and buisnesses asking for someone to put up the £180 needed would be good but I dont have the facilities to do posters nor can afford to get them printed, see on top off the £180 needed on the day ive got to send a £60 bookin fee to the jump people which I just managed to get by selling something.This is very inportant to me as you know and I want to be able to raise as much money as possible, so if anyone knows anyone with a buisness who wants to put up the £180 for the jump and I will wear a t'shirt with there buisness details on on the day for the papers or can help with posters etc etc I would apreciate it they can call me on 07 981 051411Thanks again JimSimon

Simon,That's very good news..and you must be heartened at that improvement.Best wishes.PS: What is the up to date news on the fundraising? Readers may be intersted to hear how you are doing.I believe that you collected over £1000 for the Great Ormond Street Hospital previously? . That was excellent...and would have been much appreciated by them. Indeed we saw the picture of you handing over the big cheque to GOSH in the Local Press.I believe one of your recent postings said that £180 was currently needed to pay for your latest venture..the daring parachute jump. How much have you managed to raise so far? Of course you want to raise more that £180 otherwise you'd be out of pocket!!Have you had suggestions about how Mrs Ann Keen can help you. Perhaps you could ask Mrs Keen if say five of your supporters or new supporters..to be shown around the Palace of Westminster (Parliament)..one day ..or one evening..Its very interesting there. You could charge each supporter £20 and raise another £100 that way..ie..with the help of Mrs Keen.Presumably the Ivytag Forum know about it all....Could the Worton Road Forum help..or is that too small and new? How about a collection box outside Tesco's or near the Comet store.You could have some leaflets and posters done..and dish them out..advertising your appeal and collecting some donations hopefully.Anyway have luck. With many others.. I was able to contribute to your first appeal.

hi Simon, I once shaved my head for the shooting star charity, it struck me how very cold i felt without hair....Now we know there may be a possibility of a carnival it may be an idea to pop along to the meeting on the 16th at St. Pauls and suggest that monies raised could be donated to GOSH or divided between GOSH and another worthy cause. I would certainly support it. Good luck
