Post Office

Hi do anyone know what is going on with the post office on Twickenham Rd opp Redlees park its been closed for weeks. There is a very battered old sign saying closed until further notice but now someone has written permanently on it.

We are talking about the Chestnut Grove small P.O. on Twickenham Rd. Isleworth. Reading the thread might help?

Well, planning permission was granted for change of use to residential a couple of months ago - so I would say the chances of it re-opening as a P.O. are round about zero.

Update - According to the owner he does not know when he will reopen or even if it will still be a P.O when it does.All items addressed either directly to the P.O,  or for collection by customers from the P.O are now being returned to sender. Any items that customers wish to have redelivered to the Chestnut Grove P.O will NOT be processed and will be held at Brentford Royal Mail Delivery Office for the 18 days as stated on the card.I will update again should there be any further news asap.

I work for Royal Mail in Brentford and can say that we have had no official communication regarding the closure of the Post Office.    We are aware of it being shut for quite some time now and the owner has told us he does not know when or if it will reopen. We would normally be among the first to hear if it was going to close permanently. As soon as i know any more i will post on here. For anyone wondering how to collect parcels that should have gone to Twick rd PO via Royal Mail - they are being held at Brentford Royal Mail Delivery Office 50-52 London Rd. This does not include any Parcel Force items that could not be delivered.If anyone has any questions about any of this feel free to ask away and i'll do my best to reply asap.

Planning permission was given sometime ago for conversion into residential accommodation. That means if you live in this part of Isleworth you must either go into Twickenham or up to London Road near the station, or failing that Heath Rd. Hounslow.
