There was an 8 day high court trial concluded at the end of August, with LBH seeking injunctions for the boats that they don't own to leave. The judge will give judgment some time between here and the end of November (!). There are good reasons why the council leaves the boats that it does own in situ.I understand one of the boat owners agreed in court that he had received £140,000 in rent over the last few years. As far as I know, no rent or council tax has been paid to LBH at any time, though one or two boats did register for C Tax and some may have been paid. It's quite a nice business. As to gin palaces, despite the artists impression about the marina which did indeed show 'luxury yachts' the marina if and when built will be residential and as far as I know is likely to be occupied by residential barges similar to those in the River Brent and canal (and along the Thames). This will help them to avoid falling over when the tide goes out :-)
