I've just heard on the radio that a truck has hit the railway bridge over St. John's Road so the road is closed and trains west of Brentford not running.

Do you remember when the new company took over we were promised everything. Its all a dream. A while ago I was on a French train and the ticket inspector looked at my ticket (I was on a long journey) saying? "You should have travelled tomorrow." I asked why and he said it was a free day to promote the railways. What do we get here? Same old rubbish? Signal failures leafs on the line points failures. Yes you are right!!!

Just wait - the season is almost upon us - "leaves on the line" soon to come and then we'll have "frozen points".

Why are there so many signal failures? With men in signal boxes things seemed better.
See front page news today 10th Oct. Signal failure at Barnes means no trains between W'loo and Hounslow, also Twickenham I believe. Engineers hoping to repair the fault by 11am but check before going to the station.

Oh yes I forgot.

You jest surely? Something like that requires backbone.

Ed Mayne in his powerful position as a SW Train driver could bring on a total strike until Hounslow Council and/or TfL comply and re-label the bridge heights in metric.
I am told reliably that a local resident's association has asked for the bridge heights to be in metric measurements for the benefit of the many foreign lorry drivers that we have now. Needless to say Hounslow aren't listening.
Why on earth would Hounslow listen to a local resident and break the habit of a lifetime? We must learn to accept they know best! You wouldn't let this lot loose with Lego let alone real traffic - idiots!

Incidents like this have been aggravated by the decision to close Linkfield Rd at the top by the Iron Bridge and not at the junction with Loring Rd as suggested by a resident at the public meeting. This means traffic cannot go via Linkfield and Loring to get to St John's south of the bridge. Time for the council to think again.

Photos on front page don't look like St. John's Road!
