Fireworks

Doubt this will make any difference whatsoever but I am raging and need to voice my anger and frustration. Why do we have to put up with bomb like fireworks going off for hours and hours every year? Don't get me wrong I love a few fireworks and I love a party but surely there has to be some level of consideration and respect for your neighbours. Letting off fireworks at 11oclock at night, and later, feel pretty antisocial to me. Not only does it mean I'm not getting to sleep, and I have work in 6hours, but it also means my dog barks like a crazy nutter for 6-7 hours as the fireworks rumble on. Just want to understand why the council does nothing about this happening every single year?

A quiet night?

Diwali is a huge event in the community, and fireworks are a part of it.  The actual night of Diwali is like one long BANG.  But like 5th Nov the 'celebrations' with fireworks will go on this weekend, and then next weekend will the start of Bonfire nite plus its half term.  So yup the season of fireworks has started and probably wont end till mid January 2018.  I am so lucky that my current dog has many many problems but he doesnt notice fireworks.  My last dog had to be on permanent calming medication at this time of year.

Jane be careful with what you expect from ear plugs. I was disappointed. I could not find an answer personally. As I have said in Staines we were getting fireworks in mid DECEMBER.

I was awake at 4am with continuing bangs and explosions. It seems to be carrying on tonight already. I am finding this really quite disturbing , the stress it causes the dog is alarming and I am quite sure it wakes up babies and young children as well as people who need to go to work. I have lived here for many years but this seems the worst I can remember. I guess it comes down to funding as it seems there are quite a lot of people who do not have any regard or care how their actions impact on their community. Off to buy ear plugs

Explosions in the night sky still going on at 4am.  Some of these celebrations are not limited to one night but go on over two weekends and days in between.  Absolutely no need for these explosions.  Could limit the firworks to just whooshes and no bangs.

It does not mean anything. When I lived near Heathrow fireworks went on until 0300hrs or even later.

The law says that fireworks are allowed until 1am on Diwali, with the last rules being updated in 2004. https://t.co/QPF4SixGcwThe basic rule is:You must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except for:    Bonfire Night, when the cut off is midnight    New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, when the cut off is 1am

The council and the police do not have time or resources to  investigate or do anything. Another hidden cost to the NHS in the way of casualties. Why we celebrate Guy Fawkes who was a terrorist  beats me. We need change that benefits people such as yourself who just wants a sleep in order to work the next day and pay taxes.

As far as I can see fireworks start around mid October and last into December. There are fireworks with a bomb like quality not at all like the old penny bangers. I think fireworks should only be allowed on official displays  and certainly not on free sale in shops and supermarkets to the general public. As with a lot of things there are no controls.
