Two entries in one issue of Private Eye's 'Rotten Boroughs' column, a record for Hounslow!

I'm with you on that Vanessa.  But this was a deliberately false rumour first begun (in the case of the ex-ICG members) by the undisputedly real local Labour personage David McLoughlin, which they then decided to continue peddling under the more or less self-evidently fictitious monicker of "Nicki Drick", thereby allowing them to disown it when it is shown to be false.Which for my money provides some insight into the morals and integrity of the people we are dealing with here.

I can only say - much as the current state of the Labour party appalls me, especially the local lot, Hell would freeze over before I voted Tory let alone joined them and tried to represent them!

ND has claimed at various times that your local party has "evidence" Paul Fisher, Vanessa Smith and myself have been selected to stand as Tory candidates in Isleworth at next year's local elections.  You have made no effort to refute her claim.  Are you aware of any such "evidence"?

You might conclude whatever you like.I have made clear I have no knowledge of this poster, don't know who he/she is and they most certainly don't post on my behalf.Whoever it is claims to have been at the meeting upon which you reported - were you present?The other comment was about your story about Syon selections. It wasn't ND who told you you were talking nonsense, it was me, and I don't casually dissociate myself from my own statements!

I am sure you do not know a Nicky Drick and I am sure also that it is a pseudonym.  But she makes frequent allegations and clearly presumes to do so on behalf of your local party, and you do not challenge them.  Some might draw the conclusion from this that the role of this poster is to spread muck about those you consider to be your opponents which you and other members of the local party can then always casually disassociate yourselves from when and if the allegations are demonstrated to be false.Not a very honourable approach to public debate from our elected representatives, is it?

You're right, Phil, I have never met anybody called Nicki Drick and I imagine it's a pseudonym. I don't know who is behind it, if it is.As to the matter under debate, I know no more than was in the letter which I think you've seen. I was not at the Area Forum you mentioned and there is no mention of any discussion of this on the council website. I would think any discussion was in private as it has no place on an Area Forum agenda.It all leaves me aghast, and contains serious allegations upon which it would be unwise to comment.

Ah I remember it now, the thread where I asked Guy whether I or "Nicki Drick", whom he doesn't know of course, was telling the truth on this matter.  It was the last post on the thread.

Quell surprise..( not really). I must have missed the Porngate thing, what was that about?It's a shame, the council staff I have had contact with are as right as rain thus far,helpful and interested. Pity the politicos can't take a leaf from their book.

One follows up the revelations on this forum concerning the Porngate incident, the other the dodgy-looking business of Brendan Walsh's departure from the local authority and his prompt subsequent re-emergence on the scene.  Well worth investing in a copy this month.
