Rectory Farm - between A4 & A312 (Parkway)

Does anyone out there know who owns/runs/manages this farm and what is grown/farmed there?I think with UK/EU grant funding CIP/LBH could build a huge polytunnel/greenhouse farm for growing all sorts of local produce year round like they do in Holland.Greenhouses could catch all rainwater runoff for irrigation and maybe some solar panels could be placed strategically in the structures. A couple of wind turbines could also be situated at the northern end of the farm to supply electric power and make it self-sustainable.With an uncertain energy future communities in the UK need to start working to become as self-sustainable as possible. This could be a start?

Thames Water works linked to the works visible at Hounslow West station and are indeed linked through to Mogden.The farm was put on the market a number of years ago, and one prospective bidder planned to grow vegetables under plastic for the local Asian foods market. I don't know who currently owns it, but a planning application to extract gravel from the site was turned down around the time when the farm was on the market.

I think the Thames Water works at Rectory Farm are part of a greater project that has been underway since T5 started construction. T5 is built on the old slurry works so I guess there was a pipe between it and Mogden.

Andrew:Yes the Water Boards have been there for some time. It appears  to be a shaft for "fresh" water supply pipes...or waste water pipes. Its probably a gateway/entrance to major tunneling work.Of subject: but Thames Water have major plans spend millions of pounds on a new Sewerage System for London. At a recent Chiswick Area Meeting, it was revealed that the tunnel entrance ..during construction...would be the Homefields Playing Fields in Chiswick!So: the Retory Farm site could be used for anything..seemingly!

I have recently driven past this site and noticed what looks like a giant water tank with a Thames Water sign on it. Not sure what is going on though.

PaulThis huge open area..would be ideal for your 2004 idea of a local Ski Dome !!Over the years, annually, I have noticed the yellow flowering plants reaching as far as the eye can see..rapeseed oil plants..I believe.On the London Borough of Hounslow's UDP Planning map the area is shewn as "Metropolitan Green Belt" just like other areas north and south of there.I've no idea who owns it.
