L&Q submit Citroën Garage site

This application looks like another Brentford towers estate.There are so many flats in Bentford, soon you wont be able to rent or buy a house with a garden. With the way the local authority is looking at parks to build on, there will be a generation of children who wont know what its like to play outside on grass.

The children will experience a SCREEN life. There is no reason for children to play outside. Surley if there was children would be offered climbing canoeing etc in the summer holidays and sking in the winter. This happens in FRANCE in the colonie system. Perhaps local councils could buy hotels in Scotland Wales and Ireland and offer council tennants special cheap holidays. Another idea from Europe. Of course this will not happen as people are happy with our system. We opted out out of the EU social chapter as we did not want good redundancy payments etc. We like long hours and poor pensions its our culture. So lets build flats we have to have housing!

696 cycle spaces of which 43 are outside for visitors I wonder where the new leisure centre is located?

Love the route from Citroen to parks cleaver. However back to Citroen Just the numbers intrest me. 427 residential units.8 disability parking spaces. Getting to the good bit 69 car parking spaces AND wait for it 696 cycle spaces.

Bernard - that really says it all.  Also, "that Lampton 360 can provide better value for money than a pure in house service"  That most certainly is NOT the case with the new Waste & Recycling system forced on Hounslow residents.  They did even get the number of new lorries required correct and are having to Lease more of them.  The vast number of recycling bins can't right either - many residents have returned several as they have no room to store them.  What are the Council doing with these excess bins?

There are a lot of friends groups and charities that think differently than you.The Friends’ groups, however, felt that there were serious issues to consider, and not enough time to do it in. They said it remained unclear who would be responsible for work on a day-to-day basis and how it would be monitored. Concern was expressed that the new company would have to lease or buy all its new equipment, and that this would be subject to VAT, and more expensive than anticipated, causing further strain on the parks’ already restricted budgets. Also they requested that ecologists and horticulturalists to form part of the new teams.More wide-reaching concerns included the lack of experience of current Lampton directors who have no parks’ experience, but come from real estate, property development and waste industry backgrounds. The documents which formed the basis for Lampton’s incorporation specify the presence of councillors and the Chief Executive on the Board, but these have all resigned raising questions as to how directors are selected. The Friends requested a representative director on the Board. Cllr Chaudhary said she would take back this request.

Rubbish. We are cutting out the private parks contractor inherited from a previous administration because we believe we can get better value for money from an in-house solution. No more, no less.The belief, which we will test, is that Lampton 360 can provide better value for money than a pure in house service but whether they get appointed or not has nothing to do with building on parks. There is zero chance of this happening under Lampton 360 or any other regime.

From Chiswickw4Stefania Horne, following on the work of Consultants V4S, is recommending that Lampton 360, a wholly council-owned company currently responsible for waste collection and property development, take over maintenance contracts once Carillion finishes on 9 April 2018. This, explained Ms Horne, will help to meet the ambitious savings targets imposed on the parks service, and will also provide a more satisfactory solution than using a contractor. Lampton 360, she said, should be considered as an internal department, although with some advantages for Hounslow. Pension liabilities will be reduced using Lampton 360, and Lampton is permitted to trade, so it would be able to seek alternative sources of income generation. Quality supervision should be much improved.Say no more, the parks will go eventually.

The local authority is not looking at parks to build on, though some green belt land in the far west of the borough has been released for development. None of the parks in Brentford will be built on.
