Birthday Health Check Up

Much as I love the NHS - and I do - I find it very sad that when phoning re a Month of Birth (November) check up invitation on my mobile received from my practice I was told that there was only one appointment before New Year (29th Dec.) when I am likely not to be in London and that any New Year appointment can not be booked yet as the receptionists only know the doctors' availability five weeks in advance. The latter bit is fair enough and I know the doctors, nurses and staff are hardworking and diligent - my point is that I find it alarming that it is this difficult to get a routine appointment, especially being as I was invited to make the appointment!

The bus with the money on the side. I did not  believe it but a lot of people did. Fact is we now a have a weaker currency than Greece and a lower growth rate.

So no more money for the nurses in the budget.  They tend to work longer hours than they should because they feel a responsibility for the safe handover of their patients.  High Dependency Unit nurses are supposed to have I think only two patients to look after but look after more - especially at night when Day Surgery cases may not have been able to be discharged.  The results are that any notes about near misses/problems tend not to be written.  And what's this new system I keep hearing about called Datex that is being used - which is inaccessible to Freedom of Information requests?

"Yesterday the chancellor set aside an EXTRA £ 3 BILLION for Brexit."Indeed and when you actually think about it the order of the day for our MP's is Brexit, Brexit and more Brexit. They focus on nothing else. How much is it costing us just to have the 'slap my smirking face' Brexit Secretary in Brussels all the time achieving zilch and making a bigger fool of himself. All unnecessary waste of money which could be paid into our NHS. And the joke of it is that we will still have to cough up millions to pay all the final salary fat cat pensions for the EU lot even after we have left. They can laugh all the way to the bank while we queue to see a doctor if there is even an NHS after all the EU nurses and doctors have gone 'home' because they feel unwelcome here!

Interesting that you are so keen to go for a birthday check-up! I can understand that it can be a good milestone to suggest this particularly from the computer programmer's point of view but from the patient's it might be an invitation more likely to be accepted if it came a month or two before or a month or two after a birthday!With the reduction in funds to the NHS there are all sorts of problems - including a lack of GPs.  This may be the result of the Government decision to make GPs the gateway to everything NHS, and introducing contracts that many may not be interested in - the contracts have to work for people for them to want to do the job.

I notice our MEPs will receive PRIVATE HEALTHCARE for them and their families for life after BREXIT. We will pay for it! Thats what our MEPS think of thir NHS. The money could have gone to the NHS!

Both governments have starved the NHS of funds. Most EU countries spend more than we do on health. Yesterday the chancellor set aside an EXTRA £ 3 BILLION for Brexit. I thought we were going to have more money because of Brexit. We spend a massive amount on defence at the expense of the NHS and this is the result.

Use the have the most rudest landlady in there about 20-25 years ago who seemed to be on a mission to get rid of every customer she could so no wonder it never survived as a normal pubFunnily enough I have starting warming to the Weir over the last year or so especially as the team behind the bar are getting a lot more friendlier and the garden is a real secret little treasure
