In Brentford's case and other districts it is nothing to do with Brexit.  It is everything to do with developers and property speculation and poor stewardship allowing a raft of developers to get a grip over this area. The storyline running in the TV soap Eastenders, is not so far from the truth, as are most of their plot lines depicting our fractured society)It's not just this borough, it's not helped by the GLA and the Mayor, national government and the way in which a form of permissible corruption has seeped into British society as though it is acceptable.Barking mad desperate policies based on poorly advised, almost hysterical input. The solutions are as desperate as the problems and solve nothing. And the worst bit is people know it and yet do nothing. What we see happening all around is the third rate, dressed up mediocrity, that results. So little measures up to the promise, so much falls way short.Problem is we are all to blame. We accept the warped facts, the massaged statistics, the loaded consultations with no substantiation and the way in which consultants simply feed off the paymaster.I believe that it is not helped by our elected representatives being as mislead and manipulated as the rest of us.And then there are those who are clearly out of their depth, obsessed with their own self importance and with their own agendas.Radical change is needed to stop this rot if it is not too late already.I don't see that radiating from anywhere. So we will have a town with only one bank, ( if we are lucky) probably no post office, an increasing gridlock from through traffic whilst local people are shackled,M&S are now unlikely to come to the Morrisons site following a review and the Lidl will only be a West Ealing sized store. But still on is over development, over density and over population. With no adequate infrastructure even mentioned, let alone possible.Utter contempt towards this community,  Whatever the demographic.A cocktail for disaster. And that apparently is, according to our Mayor's new Policy is just the ticket ! No doubt to rapturous applause from his followers. What has happened to a man who spoke a lot of sense ?Total opposite of what he campaigned on when seeking nomination, which made a lot of sense. Seems like the developers have him in their slimy palms as well now.
