That makes one of you. I can't imagine that there are many others. Anyway, now that the people have spoken, anybody who like you doesn't want to buy a permit will have to disappear on a Monday to Friday basis from 6.00 till 8.00p.m. instead of just 7.00 to 8.00p.m. I really can't understand what people's problem with the current parking hours are. Apart from there being plenty of spaces in Braemar on Monday during the proposed new times for a.m. and p.m. as reported above, today I walked back from Morrison's just before midday and there were no fewer than thirty spaces free in Lateward. As I got to the top where Lateward joins with Brook Road South I could see that there were a good few spaces free just in the short stretch between BRS and Braemar. Why somebody would want therefore to extend the current morning times from 10.00 to 11.00a.m. to 10.00 to 12.00p.m. other than wanting to maximise their chance of parking right outside their own front door I just can't imagine.I understand that this was put out to vote and am assuming that every household in the BRS CPZ got the paperwork (have yet to receive a reply from the Parking Team on that matter) and that the vote went to extending the hours. I just can't understand, when it is so demonstrably unnecessary, that people would vote for this and wonder whether those who did so considered that it would mean paying an extra hour each time on a Visitors' Permit. As for those who received the voting papers and who without good reason didn't bother to vote, I won't be in the least surprised if there is a lot of moaning about the extension of hours once it comes into play.

I have today (12.2.18), as a matter of interest, counted the number of free spaces in Braemar Road during the proposed extended hours of operation. This morning at 11.30a.m. there were 18 spaces. Just now, at 6.45p.m. there are 17 spaces. Monday may not be 'typical' and earlier today and just now may not be typical of other Mondays but there is no real reason to suppose otherwise. So why the need to extend the parking restrictions from 10.00 to 11.00 to 10.00 to 12.00 and 7.00 to 8.00 to 6.00 to 8.00? Just who imagines, as one poster on this thread has said, that there are people who currently every night jump in their vehicles at 7.00 and disappear off somewhere until 8.00p.m. only to return to park in Braemar/wherever? Where do they go to? Can you imagine doing this every night Monday to Friday? Who are they? Do these people really exist?!All that is going to happen with these extended hours is that people are going to end up having to pay for two hours should they 'dare' to have a guest or carer during these times. I really wouldn't be against the extension of hours could I see any need or justification for it. As it is, I am always able to park somewhere within the road and only on the very rare occasion have to resort to somewhere else in the zone.I have emailed the Parking Permit team and asked whether everybody in the zone was sent a voting paper and hope to hear back from them before the ten days is up. If indeed everybody was sent one then okay, so be it but I really do wonder whether everybody twigged that the increase in hours would also mean using two lines on the Visitors' Pass (I didn't at the time as it happens but voted No anyway on the basis that the increase in hours just seemed like a mean and unnecessary move). If you want to make representations to the Permit Team, remember that you have to do this by the 16 February - very soon now.
