Ballymore: we are awaiting the decision of the Secretary of State on the CPO. The planning inspector sent his report to the SoS approx 20 January and the SoS will apparently take 8 to 12 weeks to make his mind up. Don't ask me why these things take so long! More positively (I suppose) demolition of at least part of the site will start very soon indeed, so Ballymore think it's worth spending some money in anticipation of a good result. So I'd say there will almost certainly be a start next year, and probably this year. The marina depends on progress with the existing boats. This went to court in November(ish) and the council won on virtually every count, but some of the boaters applied for leave to appeal and this was granted in January. I believe the appeal has been 'expedited' ie it's supposed to happen quickly, but quickly and the courts are incompatible. If it happens before the summer that'll be a result. Again, unless there are shocks in the appeal I would expect this to start later this year.None of this should be taken as gospel: it is amazing how long these things take and how many unexpected developments (NPI) knock things off course.
