You call this snow, this is real snow!

Sorry youngsters, I could not resist (I remember a huge snow dump in Liverpool in 1963 as I tried to get to work at local newsagents aged 12,first thing on my bike in over a foot of snow. Oh, my goodness - just watched this link - seems unbelievable but I'd almost forgotten how tough this was.  Watching brought it all back - I was living in Kent and we had big open fires in many of our houses.  I do remember being snowed in for several days though - certainly we were made of stern stuff back then.  It seems the old puffing Billy trains worked much better than our new trains.
