Mr and Mrs Keen to attend Police meeting tonight?

The Hounslow Community Police Consultative Group is almost an unparalleled opportunity to hear the police report on thier local operations and an opportunity to ask questions etc. Regularly there are in depth presentations.There will representatives from all manner of crime related agengies ..and representatives from Residents Groups and others.The Hounslow Council website (see meetings..and follow the leads) has all the details and the Agenda.See the impressive list of expected attendees. Mr and Mrs Keen are listed automatically but........

Phil:The Police Consultative Group Secretary was asked at the March  meeting to write to our two MPs, inviting/asking them to reattend the meetings ...even if only once a year. This was in response to Committee Members who felt the Committee need a link with westminster occasionally. See Chiswick Forum threads for fuller details.This letter to the MPs was delayed because of the Election etc. Nonetheless one was sent to Mr and Mrs Keen recently..congratulating them on their re-election to the House of Commons..and inviting to these Police/Community meetings.An apology for absence was received by the Secretary a day or so before the meeting. Only mischievous Forum members would suggest that this apology was prompted by the heading of this thread. ;0)

JimDid you manage to speak to said Secretary/Chairman?  I was wondering whether they send their apologies each time or submit them en bloc for a year in advance.

What a wonderful opportunity was missed by Hounslow's two  Labour MP's ...Mr and Mrs Keen last night to see local community groups and The local Police in action and in attendance at the Police Consultative Group meeting.Their apologies for non-attendance were announced by the Secretary/Chairman.
