Fair enough, that is unambiguous for once and should be accepted as such. All the same you are close enough to the centre of things to be well aware of the antics which define your party in Isleworth and of the tolerance and even encouragement shown by the leadership to such antics in the name of expediency. For whatever reason you do not speak out against them and seem happy enough to be publicly associated with that leadership, and so you will understand why assumptions are made as to your complicity. You will be aware that during the selection process there was extensive lobbying being conducted by sitting councillors in support of a Momentum-backed candidate, which would seem counter-intuitive given the political stance of the people concerned and their unswerving loyalty to the right-wing leader of your group. I have described this elsewhere as being indicative of a Faustian pact but if there is a more rational explanation for this extraordinary behaviour then I would be fascinated to hear it.Ordinarily the selection of a candidate with a more radical approach to local issues would be welcome news where I am concerned but the apparent involvement of the incumbents and, presumably, of their Liz Kendall-supporting leader is for me a source of both confusion and concern.Meanwhile Lynn Green, a decent person and a fine councillor, would appear to be the sacrifice.
