Council jolly in Cannes
The MPIM 'conference' held annually in the South of France each year is a real beano for various government and local authority figures. This generally also attracts a lot of adverse publicity and that is the case in Hounslow where the Dear Leader and others never miss their chance to schmooze with developers etc. There is more criticism today about the cost to taxpayers for this undisguised orgy of 'networking' whilst stuffing faces with canapes and knocking back the booze.Meanwhile back at the ranch - it has taken months to get a bulb replaced in a lamp column near homes of older people, which is still not done, and I know of two council properties, 3 bed houses, that have stood empty for months, whilst housing fob councillors off as to why this is allowed to happen. Didn't someone say we are desperate for homes? Any chance we might get some candidates in the forthcoming local elections who actually care enough to sort out local problems and leave the carousing to others?
