Independent candidate for Brentford ward

From Torron-Lee Dewar's Facebook page:"After contemplating whether or not to stand as councillor, I've decided to put myself forward to stand for BRENTFORD ward. I'd be an Independent Councillor with values in the arts & community. ADU currently takes up a lot of my time however, I'm motivated to restore the towns vibrancy. I know there will be disbelief no doubt from the other political parties but that's why I'm standing... to put the locals before party politics and strive to make a difference in our town. I would love to see proper independent candidates standing in the wards they live in.But you have to hand it to present incumbents. They are out there knocking on doors and being involved locally all the time and not just at election times.Whatever you may think of their politics or views, that more than the opposition has done and and others apart maybe from the Greens but then we know they are really a branch of Labour when it comes to the crunch.It's going to take very early selection of candidates and 4 years of constant activity and door knocking to change things.One thinks that if the rest of the borough had more proactive councillors then it would be far better in general. But it does still seem that they are in a minority and you can count these hard working people of any party on ones fingers.

He would certainly have got my vote if he'd been standing on my patch.Ironically the Facebook page of the new independent group originally announced him as standing in Syon.  Whether the group made a mistake or whether Torron changed his mind I don't know, but had he done so I'd have been able to vote for him.  Ho hum.

I think Torron would be an excellent person for the role.  He's a dedicated, motivated and committed young man and shows impeccable style by wearing one of my fine hand made chronographs.
