Old Chestnut Grove Post Office - Twickenham Rd

Apologies if this has already been aired on here, I am a fairly infrequent visitor to this site and haven't trawled too far back !I was disappointed to notice today (although this has probably been apparant for some time) that the Old Chestnut Grove Post Office has been turned into a private dwelling. This is the end unit on a parade of c8 shops on the Twickenham Rd opposite the petrol station.Seems to me this is setting a very unwelcome precedent for that parade of shops. How many more shopping amenities will be lost in this way? Personally I like to use local shops in preference to supermarkets when I can and the recent addition of a decent Greengrocer in that row  was welcome.However if Landlords/Freeholders are going to be given carte blanche by the local planners to cash in on the demand for houses and change of use in this way be permitted then surely the writing is on the wall for more of this not only in this parade but elsewhere in the locality .Another example of our local councillors being hoodwinked ?

Objections to this when planning permission was applied for were made, what is there now looks dreadful. It also means that there are no Post Offices in Isleworth unless you go up to the parade near Isleworth Station where there's one in a shop. In this instance the planning department were between a rock and a hard place as the government has changed a lot of the legislation which favours development/developers.
