The BOX CATERPILLAR IS BACK

A neighbour in Grove Park W4 has just found a tiny yellow and green caterpillar climbing a mirror in her house (possibly brought in off her feet or gardening clothes).  She's pretty certain it's a box caterpillar - she had several box shrubs, most had to be destroyed but she saved, or thought she had, 5 plants.   So you gardeners out there beware, keep your eyes peeled and the deado spray ready.

I realised afterwards that there is also a survey for the Royal Horticultural Society on where and when found together with the description and picture of the caterpillars so that they can gauge the extent of the problem.
