Labour's local election leaflet
This missive dropped through our door yesterday - described by one son as "all numbers and b*ll*cks". That's one way of putting it, but what is notable is the complete lack of anything local to Isleworth, apart from heralding the new Bolder Academy, which of course will not be accessible to kids in South Isleworth as there is no bus route - the 267 turning off at Busch Corner of course. Unsurprisingly no mention of traffic - or the brilliant decision that they were all so convinced was right - the closure of Church St. Nothing about the relentless pressure of development and its impact locally. What this leaflet does raise is the honesty of some of the claims - "4000 new apprenticeships and training opportunities" - really? And this classic "Thanks to Labour's hard work, the number of schools in the borough rated 'Good' or 'Outstanding'has risen from 75% to 94.7%" - again really? - What about the teachers and all the school staff that have put in the hard graft?
