Looking at the post made yesterday by our debutante contributor I found myself returning oddly to the original theme of this thread, and reflecting upon whether there may actually be a legitimate parallel to be drawn between contemporary events in Isleworth and Arthurian legend. The post, I think, was designed to make me believe that it was made by Mark Welland, but I don't think it was. I think it more likely that our old friend "Nicki Drick" has been withdrawn from commission and replaced with this equally imbecilic monicker, for reasons which I have neither the time nor the inclination to speculate upon. I'll leave others to work out why it was intended that I should think otherwise.Meanwhile back at Camelot, some adaptations of the legend have it that the ignoble knight Mordred was the bastard son of King Arthur. In the Isleworthian version of course we have the political bastard daughter of the deposed Queen Ann wreaking similar havoc amongst the simple folk throughout the kingdom. As Mordredia fights the battles of four years ago against already vanquished enemies from behind a computer keyboard the other two candidates, presumably, are hard at it knocking on doors, trying to persuade today's voters to support the three of them against today's opponents. Remembering the hard slog that she herself put in during the 2014 campaign, Lynn Green must be feeling a very powerful sense of deja vu.
