"You can buy a copy from Chiswick Library". (maybe Brentford too?)Hello Neil..Thanks for that tip off..I wondered what that brown envelope was..lying on my doormat this morning! As you say it looks a good read. These Forums get a mention too..which is satisfying...as we do in our way...post messages about historical matters that we wonder if others in say the History Society read. A report on Chiswick's V2 bomb on pages 4,5 and 6 by James Wisdom and Val Bott includes the line "The articles on the Community Web-site have provided connections we had not expected..including one from the United States" "The unveiling (of the memorial) was very moving....several had travelled considerable distances to be there. The community web-site Chiswickw4.com published transcripts of the speeches..etc "  Didn't we do well? The article by James and Val is very comprehensive. On page 30 David Shavreen ..a local historian has written an article about the Rothchild School in Brentford. There are other articles about the artists Pissaro, about Bedford Park w4, about the Battle of Turnham Green...and finally..Neil...our friend in Australia..has a three page article on The Royal Brewery, Brentford. What a scholar!A booklet "Brentford Library and the First Librarian" by Diane Willment is obtainable from the Library etc at £3. It commemorates the 100th year of that glorious Library and building in Boston Manor Road...which is,I think, Brentford's most interesting road.It is pleasing to hear that some 300 people attended last Saturday's Brentford History meeting..see other thread.G'day to you Neil (Sydney)....and Michael if he's about(Melbourne).
