Fixed penalty notices for fly tipping

I have just posted this but it disappeared! For those who want to know how many fpns were issued in 2017 and so far in 2018, ask your Councillor. There were given the figures in their Hounslow Highways Induction documents

I agree with you about the selection process, but people deserve a chance to get stuck in and find their feet, and so far it has been really encouraging. We can only hope the normal shenanigans of the Labour Group don't taint the new councillors and they steer clear of the internecine plots and skulduggery.

Thanks - as Guy Lambert has refused to supply the info (weird for a cabinet member in charge of environment) I have requested the info under FOI couple of weeks ago.

That is encouraging news Vanessa.  I have to say I have heard only good things about him so far but my feelings were obviously mixed because of the circumstances surrounding the initial selection process.

Just to say Steve I've already had a meeting with Salman Shaheed one of the new councillors for Isleworth and yes, he does reply to e-mails.

Prosecuting can only be done by LBH - not HH and is extremely expensive. Do you want to spend the money on that? Most of the fly tipping is domestic so if an FPN stops that person doing it, surely that would suffice? The large scale stuff (builders, rubbish collectors etc) is something else so that big scale stuff would be up to LBH. However catching those guys is difficult I would imagine. It would need LBH to try and decide where those guys are likely to flytip and then to set up cameras. A different kettle of fish entirely!

I suppose the FPNs are not really the answer - prosecution to the fullest extent of the law is a better option, if council's have the spine for it of course.
