Much though I would have loved to have attended I was unavoidably elsewhere on Saturday afternoon - at a Farmers' Market in Yarmouth, IOW in fact! How did it go?Hopefully will drop by next time and sample some of these eggs that Jim recommends. I'll leave some there though, of course...

I swung by toward the end and I think some of the stalls had packed up, so next week I must get there earlier. I'm delighted this is a weekly event. The sausages smelled divine. On a less happy note, the eggs I bought from the egg and potato stall were not fresh - I poached two and they just fell to bits.

There was about the same number of stalls as usual...but I understand that more are in the pipeline..and some may just appear alternate weeks and so on.The scotch egg man looked happy...he had brought extra along with him because of their popularity ;0) and he only had 7 left out out 70?? towards the end.The Olives stall, the Bottles of Pear and Apple juice stall were there..a fish counter seemed sold out...unless he'd packed away...the vegetable stall...the egg and potato stall..buffalo meat?? and sausage stall?...and as a treat again the Austrian Sausage stall was there again. The cheese and sausage variety of hot sausage was a winner. The only craft stall I saw was a young couple selling their home made greeting cards..and they deserved support.Matt was on duty..marshalling enquiries and receiving compliments. More advertising required?? How about the HM magazine. It should be listed by HM in that widely read newsletter. The Free Church down the Road..appeared to have a tea and coffee stall on the go..and across the road..that great institution Brentford Library...and up the road Boston Manor Park and House. Its all great!

On another thread, Matt says:..."I'll be the one in the shiny yellow jacket on Saturday if anyone wants to come over and say hi, talk about the market, this site (I moonlight as Editor) or the price of fish...

The only reason i actually got a scotch egg is because I had to drop my other half at the station very early that morning so I stopped off on the way back.. :)Pear Juice sounds lovely. I try to make my own as much as possible with my juicer machine but its much easier and less messy to buy a bottle! :)

The brand label may be different at the Market but the quality is really good.Gibve it a try.. you will enjoy pouring a chilled pear juice to visitors...instead of some inferior wine!!..and be pleased to receive their compliments!!
That's good news Kim ..and glad that you liked the scotch eggs! The last time I attended the Market..the scotch eggs were sold out :0( and it was SO disappointing. I think the stall had sold all forty odd! Some many Scotch eggs sold these days ..at other places..are old and rubbery. The egg has shrunk..leaving a gap between the egg and the (?) sausage meat(?).

I went to the Market for the first time a couple of weeks ago and i have to say although there wasnt a great deal there, I was quite impressed with the produce.I also finally got to try those infamous scotch eggs and i wasnt dissapointed!
