If you value your parks and open spaces..........

With LB Hounslow under huge pressure to develop open spaces for new housing, you may want to take a few minutes to complete the online survey below. I will give you the benefit of the doubt at the moment Guy - but two words - 'Brent Lea'.Neither does this necessarily protect the Green Belt or other open spaces especially at the Feltham end of the borough.

Worth noting that there was a Highways England study which suggested the M4 should be made 4 lane westbound in the elevated section, with eastbound being put in a tunnel coming up in... Brentford, by Junction 2 ie, in Carville Hall Park North.What happens when those 4 lanes emerge ain't Highways England's problem (it's TfL's).They say they were just thinking the unthinkable and it's not going to happen but the fact they were even examining it (no doubt the study cost £Millions) rather throws doubt upon Heathrow's statement that there will be no increase in motor traffic. The fact they are planning 40000 new car park spaces is another clue, plus 50% more planes means 50% more air freight - do the math.Do sign the petition, but I can assure you LBH will not build on parks: the commitment was in the manifesto and we will respect the manifesto (in any case, most or all of us would  never support loss of parks)

Ps as the new runway has just been given the green light, maybe someone thought where are all these new workers and travellers going to stay and live? We're overdeveloped Hounslow Borough already... Errrm. :)

Come on people - this is your chance to put your two penn'orth in. Parks and green open spaces are under threat as never before, and their provision is not a statutory requirement for local authorities. With all the flats in Brentford and Isleworth and with more being planned these spaces are vital and essential.
