HOT NEWS FROM BOSTON MANOR PARK

The Friends of Boston Manor, in association with CIP, have today agreed to a Boston Manor Festival (working title) to be held within the park on Sunday 4th September 2005 from midday.  WE are looking for people who wish to be involved, both to help make it happen but, as important to participate on the day.  WE have many ideas but particularly we wish to invite local groups to have the opportunity to promote themselves.  After all, Boston Manor Park is in Brentford.  Duncan Shepherd has mentioned today the re-start of the Brentford Carnival - maybe this is his answer!  In the first instance, if you have any suggestions or wish to be involved, or represented, then please contact me viat this message board and I will contact you - or email me on linda.massey@virgin.net   Thanks

Following on from your comment re Soul in the City.  The park is unusual because whilst it is officially in Hounslow (Brentford) it borders Ealing.  For Soul in the City for example I and the Friends of Boston Manor drew on the Ealing branch and had a successful week last year with 40 young people cheerily working in the gardens making a real difference.  I will go to the meeting organised by Duncan Shepherd on 16th June to hear what people have to say.

Linda..Thanks for that information re the 4th September. Hopefully you will get some good responses.You may well be aware that last year the  SOUL IN THE CITY event in Brentford..seemed to have lots of support and a talented organiser. She gave a report to the Isleworth and Brentford Area Committee at one meeting..mentioning in detail its success..but saying that there weren't enough funds to do it again. I have the leaflet with phone numbers.
