Large Bins On Haverfield

Can anyone shed some light as to where the large silver wheeled bins(originally used for collecting rubbish from the chute systems) have suddenly gone outside the walks?There used to be 2 outside my entrance on Coates Walk.Whilst they were a bit of a nuisance with people turning up from all over the area to dump their rubbish in and around them, they have now vanished.Council signs have gone up informing people that leaving their rubbish bags in the now vacant area will be fined for fly tipping.While i appreciate the need to control rubbish disposal some form of notice from the council would have been appreciated.Most properties are family ones and generate a large amount of rubbish - generally using a large bin bag in a large bin. Which doesn't fit down a chute system that is always jammed or out of use.I assume we are all now required to use smaller bins and bags which will fit down the chute system.Will the caretakers be checking that the chutes are clear on a regular basis?As the caretakers/ cleaners usually only frequent my block about once a month - what will happen when the chute inevitably gets blocked by someone?Will the caretakers also be checking the contents of the green recycling bins that we still have outside our entrance which are bound to be used by those who don't yet know the silver bins have gone?

This is music to my ear's.I have been on about non-signing of the signing in sheets and non cleaning for over a year. I am surprised they have got away with it in Coates as in my small block of four you can get away with non cleaning because of low footfall. 12 times last year no cleaning and 7 already this year. When I complained for the what ever time now to a Housing Officer I was called a whinger by the caretaker supervisor, in his reply.So take this in 3 months non cleaning last year and already nearly 2 months this year. Don't forget there is a weekly charge for cleaning weather it's done or not it's still payable. I hope you will be at the meeting 31st July Mission Hall 1830

So it appears that the reason the bins were placed outside the entrance to the block was due to an issue with the chutes.The issue must have lasted at least a good year at least and in the meantime we have still used the chute on occasion - i wonder what happened to that rubbish?  Now that they have addressed whatever the issue was with the chute, the bins are no longer outside the block as you have said.Which, as i said, means we have to use the chutes for everything now.The issue here as i mentioned - is when not so considerate tenants either block, or leave items too big to fit down the chute, on the floor of the chute room.    Our cleaner doesn't always come even once a week as the sheet they sign in the communal area shows, and dare i say on occasion, the sheet has merely been signed, with no actual cleaning taking place.     Still, thanks for enquiring Guy, lets' hope we don't have any further issues.
