Hounslow Community Foodbox charity needs a volunteer

Our friends in Tesco Osterley make food available but they cannot deliver it to our place in Brentford. Anybody out there with an estate car - or a car capable of carrying up to £300 worth of food - who could commit to picking up from Tesco's between 10 and 11 am on Tuesdays?Foodbox will happily pay mileage. I'm pleased to say three people have volunteered for this. Brentford has plenty of people who look out for those who need assistance.

The supermarkets all do van deliveries too...odds are they will have a regular delivery nearby.

It's a real shame, in my opinion, that in these times of huge rises in the retainers of local politicians that this simple service can't be provided by the local authority using a council vehicle for that one hour a week.
