Boston Manor Park

Just received in today's post a letter from LBH Licensing regarding an application for a licence for alcohol/films/recorded music/dance in the park on Fridays/Saturdays and Sundays.  No specific dates given. Is this the thin end of the wedge?  The Company applying do not even have a website. They quote anticipated attendance on their application as around 15,000. Any advice on how to object to this would be gratefully received.

Really this is much more serious. In that it risks the park for longer and as you say an area behind the house. Do people live in the park next to the house? If so it must be a nightmare for them. Also will it effect house values?Gunnersbury sounded  a nightmare for residents. Wakiking up in the morning and finding portaloos outside!!!!

Yes that's right the application is for 3 days each year for 3 years.  The Council's original letter didn't specify dates which meant it looked as if they were applying for an open licence but now they've sent another letter quoting specific dates.  Doesn't anyone ever check what they send out ? They also want to use more areas of the park including the large grassed area behind the House for a 'family' event. We have to object which we did last year so don't hold out much hope.

Aren't the monies raised by these events ploughed back into running and maintaining that Park?

Exactly Raymond. I feel so sorry for people who live near the park. For me it would be pure punishment.

Just read there has been an application put in for the next THREE YEARS for a music festival in the park for  THREE DAYS. Is this right?

I think as you say its the thin end of the wedge. The council say they need to do it for financial reasons. And so it goes.

These are the Junction 2 providers. They seem to be applying for a license to run Junction 2 weekends for the next three years, rather than their previous applications for a single year.
