A while ago I read about a group who restore furniture to resell, learning skills in a training environment. Does anyone know if they still exist, and contact details if they do?Cheers

Here's my input on the subject:http://westlondonwaste.gov.uk/reduce-waste/furniture/richmond-furniture-scheme/http://www.purplecarrot.org.uk/This one in Shepherds Bush: https://www.petitmiracles.org.uk/There are several sites on the West London Waste Authority website. There was one in Ealing (Accession) which has now closed. There is Shepherds Bush Housing Trust (Furnish)William Wilberforce Trust (Resco)They change their names and seem to start up when they win grants and close down when they run out of money or volunteers or initiative.I'm sure I saw a request from one of the Age Concern/Age UK local groups looking for small items of furniture to do up or mend this year. So it is probably worth contacting several charities to see if they have anybody doing this even if they don't mention it. It makes it so much easier now that we can send pictures by phone so that they can understand what the problem may be with a piece of furniture. There are also repair cafes starting up and restart parties but the one that I can see locally looks as though it is only for electrical/electronic items.https://www.meetup.com/Restarters-London/events/254608363/There have been repair cafes/restart parties in Brentford. Brentford Recycling Action Group have held at least one. So have Cathja.Good luck!
