Brook Road South Controlled Parking

The new times for the parking scheme come into operation on 8 October, extending each session by an hour (new times 10.00 - Noon and 6.00 - 8.00pm).  The signs have been changed to reflect the new time.This morning I was speaking to a neighbour who saw a parking warden issuing tickets to cars with visitor passes after 11.00.  When challenged he said that the signs stated the time and the cars were in contravention.  He was eventually encourage to contact his office - which he did - and he was told that the new times start on 8 October - apparently the wardens had not been informed!  I wonder how many tickets he has issued?If you have received a parking ticket you need to contest it!

According to the standard councils turn over a million pounds a day profit no wonder they're so keen to implement them.

Very damaging for the handful of small businesses who trade up to 6.30- 7pmVery bad for the legion of carers who attend lots of elderly and infirm between 6-7, they already get poorly paid for working past 6pm and now have to pay to park or not use a car at all, which limits the amount of people they can attend to.One of our family is affected by this and the care company is now saying an additional cost will be levied and we/she will have to accept liability for parking tickets issued.That's fine as it will all additional charges related to her care will be passed onto LBH who now pay for her care at home.But it's plain wrong and adds to the street of people who already suffer enough stress.But for a rather dodgy consultation to be implemented with such a low response is reprehensible.  And how come this does not happen in other areas unless there is overwhelming dissatisfaction demand for a review?And whom had all this prepared before March 2018 yet kept it from public domain until after the council elections?

Ah yes, but 'the people' voted for it. I'm still waiting for anybody who voted that way to tell me why, particularly as the change was demonstrably unnecessary.On top of that, what no doubt some of those who voted 'Yes' failed to realise is that they will now have to pay for two lines on the visitors' permit instead of one should they have a visitor, carer or workman come during these times. At the moment that would be £1.60 with every chance that the charge per hour will rise = £2.00 per visit = £4.00 per day.The people have spoken and those who don't like the change but didn't bother to vote needn't bother to complain once the new times become operational (8 Oct.).

So that's a quarter of the business hours lost to the few shops around that area probably be a good idea for them to move
