Alternative headline: 'Under-the-radar Brentford to be subsumed under large number of disproportionately huge blocks of flats nobody wants to buy'.Opportunity to build actual houses, which people do want to live in, and that could be in keeping with the best of the local area, lost.

Well it appears not to be going into Brentford but feathering the nest of other parts of the borough which seems to be more prostituting  Brentford to appease the rest of the Borough.

Oh how I agree with you - CIL - supposedly 'community infrastructure levy' sounds so good - but can we trust Hounslow to use it wisely?

I wouldn't disagree as such, but despite what I do for a living I find the sheer scale of all these developments in a small area 'scary'.  We're all already familiar with how clogged up the roads are, the pressure on local infrastructure etc. and despite the revenue supposedly incoming from CIL I am far from convinced that such revenue will ever be able to match the increased demand.Each to their own though.

It is good to see a positive article about the area and also to see that there is finally some work starting on the site. MSO Marine seem to be moving under the bridge to the area closer to the Thanks Lock, the Red Buses also seem to be clearing out their yard as a lot of the various cars vans and buses have gone and there has also been some demolition work right at the other end of the site in addition to the demolition work opposite Morrisons. There is inevitable going to be divided opinion on the 'ideal' mix of the use and there will be sections of the community who aren't happy, but I for one am really happy to see progress as the site is/was getting more and more depressing in its current guise.

true but in the article is also written "Though Brentford is out in Zone 4 transport links are fast. Trains to Waterloo take just over half an hour."anyway they started the demolition of the building in front of Morrison and there are lot of portlable cabins in Brent Way which I assume are used as temporally project office...

I wonder who funded this advertisement ?! - suffice to say I don't think the author has done much research and/or ironed out any inconsistencies, such as 'Jack' claiming he has a 20 minute train journey to Waterloo whilst the article acknowledges it's actually over 30 minutes.Can't say I'm disappointed I won't be around when this 'transformation' is complete.
