Does any poster know if the B & C T has an archive website; I want to check an item around 1937, but can't even find a website for the newspaper itself.Any advice would be appreciated please.

Audrey, Sarah, Jim, Neil and Sally,Thank you all kindly for your advice.I didn't have a URL; I just typed Brentford & Chiswick Times into the Google address box.

To save you a bit of typing you can simplify that web address to www.rttimes.co.uk and then go to the BCI section.Unfortunately the search engine is a bit pants and largely looks for the title of the article. Sadly, it doesn't go back to 1937! As the others have suggested try the local libraries ...

You can get into a section of B & C news via http://www.richmondandtwickenhamtimes.co.uk/. under the news and features section. No archive section though.Chiswick library has a new Local Studies Librarian, now full time. I would try Chiswick first then Hounslow.

Similar achives also exist at the Chiswick Reference Library..and if you were to phone them Ann..they may be able to do a quick search for you.I hadn't realised that the BC&I Times is now part of a massive American Parent Company that employs 51,000 staff. In the UK alone there are 300 newspapers in the Group..employing 9100 staff. The Group also publishes from their Richmond King Street offices the Hounslow Guardian...a freebie I believe..which rarely arrives here!..Sally !!??

Ann, they have the archive on microfiche at Hounslow Library, in the History section.

I can't help you Ann but perhaps you can help me! Would you please post the link to the Brentford & Chiswick Times, I've been unable to find it. Thanks a lot.
