Why no christmas trees on Great West Road

How times have changed you use to know when Christmas was coming with all the Christmas trees and lights that were put up along the great west road mile. Driving the other night noticed not one tree has been put up. I remember when Wallace house had the trees up even the old firestone.  Are all the companies along the great west road so tight they can not brighten up Brentford just for 12 days with a Christmas treelets hope next year they brighten up the great west road at Christmas

I can understand about the cost and health and safety  but look at goddards in Brentford and the lights on the high street. Small traders can put there hands in their  pockets to give some Christmas cheer to Brentford but the big companies that makes millions do nothing

I daresay the licencing required now not to mention the 'elf and safety cobblers is enough to put people off. Bah Humbug!

I cant remember when there were last Christmas trees.  I think its a while ago now.  And the layout of the wide banks where the trees were displayed is long gone.  Also its a fairly expensive operation these days to install the lights and have them checked etc.  Health and safety etc.  There are many other good Christmassy options around hey ho
