Greggs closing Friday

Notice up in Greggs saying they are to close down on Friday. With Evans Cycles gone, that's pretty much all the shops on the south side have now been vacated for demolitoon. Hope Ballymore crack on as there is very little now in Brentford.

Another shop bites the dust :-( I moved away from Brentford early last year after living in Brentford for around eight years and i really liked living in Brentford as it had a bit of character and you could get to lots of places from it. One of the reasons i decided to move was beacuse of all the building work that has happend more and more over the years that i lived there and all the the planned building work that they are planing on doing in the future. Since i moved away from the area every time i pop back to Brentford another shop has closed down or a building has been knock down and its sad to see. Brentford is heading towards becoming just one big building site :-(

Thanks Guy. It would be great if Ballymore could share any planned schedules online too. I think that's what a lot of us residents are waiting for.

The currently approved plans are here:http://planning.hounslow.gov.uk/Planning_CaseNo.aspx?strCASENO=P/2012/2735It's complicated but the best overall document I think is 'Proposed Site' 6th document down on page 3!Bear in mind there have been other planning applications subsequently to fill in some details and of course this is 3 years old so it could still change, but probably not radically.

Ballymore will be presenting their plans on Thursday at the Isleworth and Brentford Area Forum - 7.30 at the Blue School,North Street, Isleworth TW7 6RQ.We should get a better idea of plans and timescales there.

I really hope the south side doesn't turn into another Empire House, Chiswick - with all the stores told to move out followed by years of being left empty.
